Fill out the Nigerian passport renewal application on this page and follow the steps to easily renew your Nigerian passport.
There is no need to go to the consulate until your Nigerian passport renewal application has been completed. We recommend that you make an appointment and have all the necessary documents ready.

Renewing your Nigerian Passport is not a complicated process.
​
Having completed the Nigerian passport renewal application form check it properly if there are any errors to be corrected before making payment, once this is done, you can print the form which will be emailed to you including your appointment slip.

We advised that you renew your Nigerian passport before it expires, to ensure that you always have a valid up-to-date document.

Nigeria Passport Renewal Necessary Document

While visiting the Nigerian consulate in either Atlanta, New York or Washington DC, equip yourself with the necessary documentation below proving that you are a citizen of Nigeria.

Nigerian Passport Renewal

Ensure to bring your most RECENT/EXPIRED Nigerian passport and (2) two passport pictures
First-time Applicants (18 years & Older)

Ensure to bring a photocopy of your birth certificate.

Copy of both or one parent`s Nigerian Passport data page (Current or expired)
Minor First-time Applicants (0-18 years)

Ensure to bring copies of the birth certificate

Copy of parents' Passport Data page (Current or expired)

Letter of consent signed and notarized by both parents or legal guardian

Lost/stolen passport
​

Ensure to bring a detailed police report that states "Lost passport" and also a money order - $370 (Lost passport fee/fine)
All other applicants applying in the New York or Washington DC location, in other to avoid any potential delays, your processed applications will be mailed out to your email address respectively. Take your forms with you directly to the local embassy for processing.

Requirements for Walk-ins

Changing your Name for a Nigerian passport renewal
​
If you currently want to have your name changed on your Nigerian passport, please bring any documents showing your new name and or married name, ex: Marriage certificate/License, US passport, or Permanent resident card showing your new name. In addition to your expired Nigerian passport and (2) passport pictures ​

Note: Due to the long process of having a name change done, it is much easier and advisable to have a name change done in Nigeria. If you still have the old Nigerian passport that was last issued in 2008 or in previous years, you can easily have a name change done in the States at any Nigerian Embassy. If you have the current ECOWAS passport from 2009 to — the present, then having a name change done takes approximately 4–6 months and sometimes takes up to a year. ​
Lost or Stolen Nigerian Passport

All applicants that can’t find their passport MUST first file and get a Police Report from a Local Police station closest to you. Also please note that the Police report should state “LOST NIGERIAN PASSPORT.” This is mandatory for all applicants who cannot find their Nigerian Passport and please bring a fee of $370 in the form of a Money order with you. ​ If you have any questions or concerns about your Nigerian passport application, please do not hesitate to contact the agency (770–510–9332) or send us an email at ngpassports@gmail.com
How Long Does It Take to Get a Nigeria Passport Renewed?

It depends on how quickly you need to get it. You have two options to renew your Nigerian passport. Regular processing of an application takes six to eight weeks.
